Earlier this week we had the pleasure of playing at a Disney themed wedding at the beautiful, fairytale-like venue of Bestwood Hotel near Nottingham.

Both the Bride and Groom were huge Disney fans and as such had ordered a Disney wedding cake (unfortunately we didn’t get to see it, gutted!) and requested that we play something Disney for the entrance of the bride. We suggested ‘Tale as Old as Time’ from Beauty and the Beast, one of our favourites, which they loved the sound of. As we discussed ideas for the rest of the ceremony they eventually decided that it would be nice to have all Disney songs, so we ended up playing ‘Married Life’ from Up, ‘Ma Belle Evangeline’ from The Princess and the Frog and ‘At Last I See the Light’ from Tangled for the signing of the register (the last two were special requests) and ‘Touch the Sky’ from Brave for their exit music (which was also a special request). There were a few children (and adults!) who got very excited by all the Disney-ness!

For the drinks reception the Bride had made special requests for ‘Happy’ by Pharrel Williams, ‘One Day Like This’ by Elbow and the main theme music from ‘Lord of the Rings’, which we interspersed with a range of songs from our pop covers list. Oh, I forgot to mention, we actually played for the entrance of the Groom before the ceremony! Normally the groom just wanders in with the rest of the guests, but this guy wanted to make a special entrance, and we accompanied him with the main theme from ‘Star Wars’. It was nice that both the Bride and Groom were able to make special entrances. Congratulations both!
