Two Weddings in One Day on the Hottest Day of the Year ☀️☀️☀️

The Bride and Groom had a go on our instruments.

We very rarely get to play at two weddings on the same day as they inevitably clash. However our bookings today worked out perfectly; the first wanted us for their Church Ceremony at midday and the second, at the opposite end of the county, for their Wedding Breakfast at 4pm. And of course it would be 29’C, the hottest day of the year so far!

Fortunately the lovely North Lincolnshire Church was very cool inside and provided temporary relief from the incredible heat! The ceremony was a beautiful one, our couple chose some fantastic songs for us to play as their guests arrived including ‘Rather Be’ Clean Bandit, ‘Shape of You’ Ed Sheeran and ‘Someone You Loved’ Lewis Capaldi. For the Bride’s entrance they had a bespoke request of ‘Us’ Regina Spektor, which we arranged for them specially. As they signed the register we played ‘All You Need is Love’ The Beatles, ‘Your Song’ Elton John and ‘Here comes the Sun’ The Beatles (damn right!) and they walked out to ‘God Only Knows’ The Beach Boys.

Afterwards we whizzed down the A15 & A1 to get to our second wedding of the day at the amazing Irnham Hall. For this one we were booked to play during their afternoon tea and boy was it hot! We must have drank our weight in water 😂 it was lovely however and everyone enjoyed the music – especially the couple’s bespoke song request ‘Be Our Guest’ from Beauty & The Beast. What a great way to begin your Wedding Breakfast!
