A rare photo of us being Wedding Guests for a change! This was taken at the Carre Arms Hotel in Sleaford at Sarah’s Godfathers Wedding.
This is the first in a new series of blog posts where we will talk about our day-to-day lives as The Chapel Hill Duo. We will cover everything from our work at Weddings and other events to the joys and difficulties of being professional musicians living in rural Lincolnshire.
The happy couple saying their vows in a beautiful Celebrant led Wedding Ceremony last weekend at the Belton Woods Hotel near Grantham.
We quite often get asked this question, along with ‘when do you play music during the ceremony?’ and ‘what order do they do things in?’, and now that we are planning our own Wedding we’ve realised that even with a Civil Wedding Ceremony (i.e. not a Church Wedding) there are so many different things to consider that it can be quite daunting! So, we thought it would be worth doing a very basic blog post explaining just exactly how things go down, in chronological order, during a Civil Wedding Ceremony – it’s not quite as confusing as you might think! We will also talk about where the music usually fits in as well.
The Bride and Groom unleash their inner rock-stars while they have a go on our instruments.
Today was our first time visiting the amazing Childerley Long Barn for a wedding, and it really is a LONG Barn! Thought to be one of the longest timber-framed barns in the UK.
Our Wedding booking today was one of the longer bookings we’ve had in a while, but also one of the most rewarding! Set in the beautiful building and grounds of Hemswell Court, Lincolnshire, we were booked to play during the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast.
a Violinist’s-eye view of the perfect outdoor Ceremony at Brookfield Barn.
Living in the UK we can’t always expect the weather to be sunny, especially in Summer! We always have a contingency plan, just in case the weather turns grim at the last second! However, today was not one of those days. We had the pleasure of returning to Brookfield Barn to play at – what we would call – a perfect summer wedding.
The Chapel Hill Duo performing at a wedding at Belton Woods Hotel.
It’s not often that we get to see the photos taken of us at a wedding. The lovely Paul Massey has just sent some great photos of us from a Wedding we did a few weeks ago at Belton Woods Hotel.
We’ve never once missed a wedding in over 6 years of performing at them, so we certainly weren’t about to let a freak snow storm in the middle of March stop us from getting to this one!
Violin Jaya Hanley and Cello Sarah James. Perfect by Ed Sheeran.
Have a little look at our new cover of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’, We love it and think it’s going to be very popular for the 2018 Wedding season. Enjoy and please like and share 😊
Flowers at the top of the aisle at Kelham House Country Manor Hotel.
We played our first wedding of 2018 last Saturday at the lovely Kelham House Country Manor Hotel. After having had a month off from weddings it was wonderful to get back to work!
